The first bits of fashion wants are finally beginning to make their way into my fall wishlist, and at the top of the list there is definitely the long blazer, reminiscent of the late 80s and early 90s when it was worn by actresses and supermodels.
Blazers at the time were perfect: long, vaguely masculine with an oversized cut, often double-breasted and complete with padded shoulders. An item that thrown over a white shirt paired with beautiful hair instantly makes you feel as though you are Cindy Crawford wearing Versace on a Vogue number of 1992.
Nothing in common, thankfully, with the misfortune of the first millennium, when the jackets where skinny and cropped.
This year the blazer has made it’s comeback, and who I am to be immune to it’s allure?
Balenciaga, Stella McCartney and Wang have made wonderful versions, otherwise you can always count on mother Zara.
